Terms of Service
Last updated 26 September 2026
The agreement between you and ohmykad when you create, pay for, publish or open an invitation card here.
These terms
ohmykad is a service for making a digital invitation card (an e-kad) that you share as a link. Creating a card is free; publishing it to a public address costs a one-off fee.
By using ohmykad you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
They work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal information.
Who may use ohmykad
You must be at least 18 to create or pay for a card. If you are younger, an adult must do it for you and is responsible for the card.
The service is built for events in Malaysia and prices are in Malaysian ringgit. You may use it from elsewhere, but it is not tailored to any other country's rules.
Your account
You can start a card without an account: we give your browser an anonymous session, and that session owns exactly one unfinished card. Clear your browser's storage and that card is gone. We cannot restore it, because nothing connects it to you.
To pay or publish you must register: with an email address and the code we send you, with a password if you set one, or with a Google account. If you sign in with Google using an email address that already has an account here, the two become one account.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping access to the email address or Google account you sign in with.
Free to make, paid to publish
You can build a card, preview it, and share a temporary preview link with a few people at no cost. The preview link expires.
Publishing requires payment. The price is shown at checkout before you commit, and it is a one-off charge for that card, not a subscription.
One payment covers one card. A second card is a second payment.
Paying
We do not take payments inside the app and we are not a payment processor. Checkout raises an order, and you settle it by bank transfer arranged with us on WhatsApp.
How it works:
- The order: checkout gives you an order code and an amount. Amounts are always calculated on our server; nothing your browser sends can change a price.
- The transfer: you message us on WhatsApp with the order code and pay by bank transfer to the account we give you. We confirm the payment by hand and record its reference.
- Publishing: once your payment is confirmed the publish button unlocks, and you put the card live yourself when you are ready.
- Unpaid orders: an order left unpaid expires after a while. Nothing is charged and you can start a new one, though a voucher applied to the expired order goes with it.
Refunds
Because the fee unlocks the card immediately and what you bought is delivered at once, we do not offer refunds as a matter of course.
We will refund you where we took your money and you did not get the card you paid for: a failure on our side, a duplicate transfer, or an amount confirmed in error. Message us on WhatsApp and we will sort it out.
Payment is arranged and settled between you, your bank and us. If a transfer goes wrong at the bank, your bank is where to start. Tell us as well, so the order does not sit unresolved.
How long a card lives
A published card runs on two clocks, six months each by default and both shown to you in the editor: an editing window, during which you can keep changing the card at no extra cost, and a validity window, after which the public page stops showing the invitation.
Both are counted from the later of the day you publish and the last date on your card, so a card made far ahead of its event does not expire before the event.
After expiry the link keeps working but shows a short note that the event has passed, rather than a dead page; the link may still be sitting in a chat group months later. We may change the default lengths for new cards; a card already published keeps the windows it was given.
Your content
The names, text, photographs and settings you put on your card stay yours. You give us permission to store them, to display them on your card and its preview, and to produce the downloadable version of the card we provide. That is all we do with them.
You are responsible for what you publish being accurate, and for having the right to publish it. A photograph you did not take, a venue you have not booked, a person's name and phone number you have not asked about: all your call, not ours.
You are responsible for the bank account number and QR code you display. We never check them, and we cannot recover money a guest sends to the wrong account.
Other people's information
A card usually carries other people's personal information: parents, contact persons and their phone numbers, guests in the photographs, and the replies your guests send you.
You decide what goes on the card and what your RSVP form asks for, so that responsibility is yours. Ask only for what you need, tell people what you will do with it, and take something down when you are asked to.
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act you may be treated as responsible for that information in your own right. If somebody on your card asks to be removed, remove them. You can edit the card yourself while the editing window is open, and we will help once it has closed.
Money gifts and the registry
The money-gift widget shows your own bank account or e-wallet QR code to your guests. That is all it does.
Money never passes through ohmykad. We do not receive it, hold it, forward it, count it or take a share of it. We are not a payment service, and a gift sent by a guest is a transfer between that guest and you.
Anything that goes wrong with a gift (the wrong amount, the wrong account, a gift said never to have arrived) is between you and your guest. The same goes for the gift registry: we record that someone reserved an item, and we have nothing to do with the item itself.
If you are a guest
Opening someone's card, you may be able to RSVP, leave a wish, or reserve a registry item. Give real information, and keep messages to the sort of thing you would say at the event itself.
Wishes appear on a public page. The host chooses whether they are published straight away or only after approval, and can hide any of them. We block a short list of abusive words automatically, and we can remove anything that does not belong there.
Do not use a card's reply forms to advertise, to abuse anyone, to impersonate somebody, or to submit another person's details as if they were yours.
What the AI does, and does not, promise
The builder can turn a description you write into a draft card. What it produces is a suggestion: it can misread a date, a name or a venue.
You are asked to confirm the draft before anything is saved, and the card stays yours to correct while the editing window is open. Check it before you publish: a wrong date on a live invitation is not something we can fix for you.
Generated cover artwork is decorative. It is drawn from a fixed set of styles and is not a depiction of any real place, building or person.
What you may not do
You may not:
- Break the law: use ohmykad for anything unlawful, or for an event that is itself unlawful.
- Pretend to be someone else: publish a card in another person's or organisation's name without their agreement.
- Publish harmful content: anything hateful, obscene, defamatory or harassing, or anything that puts a person named on the card in danger.
- Abuse the service: scrape it, hammer it with automated requests, work around the bot checks or rate limits, or try to reach cards, orders or dashboards that are not yours.
- Resell it: sell, sublicense or re-badge ohmykad or its output as your own service without our written agreement.
- Misuse what your guests gave you: use the RSVP details your guests sent you for marketing, or pass them to anyone else.
- Take our assets: copy, download or extract the fonts, artwork or code that ohmykad supplies to draw your card (your own photos and words stay yours), or use them outside ohmykad. They are licensed to us for the service, not to you.
Availability
We aim to keep ohmykad running, but we do not guarantee it is available at any particular moment. It is a small service, and it can be interrupted by maintenance, by a provider we depend on, or by a fault.
We may change, add or withdraw features, and we may change the price of new cards at any time. A card already paid for is unaffected.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. The downloadable version of your card is there for that.
Liability
We provide ohmykad as it is. Beyond what these terms promise, we make no warranties about it, including that a card reaches every guest, that guests reply, or that anyone turns up.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost income or opportunity, for a spoiled occasion, or for anything arising out of content a host or a guest published.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the card the claim is about. Nothing here limits liability that Malaysian law does not allow us to limit.
Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or remove a card, or close an account, where these terms are broken: a card impersonating someone, or one used for something unlawful. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
You may stop using ohmykad whenever you like, and you may ask us to close your account. Closing it stops your cards working. Our Privacy Policy explains what then happens to the data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top is the version in force.
If a change matters to a card you have already paid for, we will say so on this page rather than change it quietly. Continuing to use ohmykad after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
Disputes go to the courts of Malaysia, though we would far rather settle it on WhatsApp first.
Contact us
WhatsApp is how you reach us: the number appears at checkout and on your account page once you have registered.
